Elise Mayfield is a Birmingham-based, Chicago transplant, actor and baker. Originally from Birmingham, AL, her parents knew she was a creative soul early on when she based her decision on whether to attend theater camp or summer camp on which had air-conditioning. She attended college at the University of Mississippi, better known as Ole Miss, where she graduated with honors with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater. After graduation, Elise made the brave move to the Windy City and promptly bought a coat that was essentially a sleeping bag with sleeves. After moving to Chicago, Elise has studied at I.O. Chicago, The Second City Conservatory, The Artistic Home, and she received a M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts from Columbia College Chicago. She has performed on Chicago storefront stages all over the city with several companies and is a company member with The Ruckus. Chicago is also where Elise really developed her foodie spirit. When she couldn't find any of her favorite comfort foods from home, she realized she'd just have to make them herself. So, what started as a birthday cake recipe from her Mawmaw became a string of cakes, cookies, bars, and pies. And, that string of pastries led to private dinners, fundraisers, and eventually a spot on on the 5th season of FOX's tv show MasterChef. Elise recently relocated back to her hometown of Birmingham to pursue her culinary dreams full time, and she bets that you are a pretty cool person.
